Goldeneye - OPI

So this is one of my new polishes that came in the post 2 days ago, you can read about that here. I was really excited to get this polish, it looked amazing and didn't disappoint , until I thought it was dry and bumped it :/ . But the shine is amazing, wow, I can't get over it.  It did take 3 coats to get it looking like the bottle, the application was good it wasn't to runny or thick it was good, but you would hope its like that for $20aud.

So happy :)

yesterday my brother came home with a present for me (I was feeling a bit down with being jobless for 4 months now :( ) , 2 OPIs he said he saw them for half price and thought I would like some. He bought me Green-wich village and  Dutcha 'ya just love OPI because green and purple are my favorite colours. Isn't he the nicest brother(don't tell him I said that! we pretend to hate each over :P ), I didn't have to pay him back.

Today I also got a parcel in the mail full of ten polishes (2 of them freebies) that I bought from Carli who is the owner/wrighter of Vintage Musings of a Modern Pinup (witch is an aw some blog), I bought these from her blog sale but at the moment she has mystery grab bags(6 polishes) for $20 witch is cool.

GLAD WRAP ~ no name - GR & fire -red earth Australia

So the two polishes I used are randoms, I have never heard of the brands and only have one polish of that brand. I wanted to try and do a glad wrap mani and couldn't decide what polishes/colours I was going to use so I settled with two of my randoms (mainly because I never wear these so if I fail its no loss).

newspaper nails

was going to do a belated Australia day post (I used an Aussie newspaper, I think that counts)  but had a brain wave and just had to try it out. I like it, not very practical but it looks cool, got lots of complements. After the brake there is a little step by step thing, I used PVA as I didn't know if this was going to work. If you do this with clear polish  it would work, but you need to make sure you cover the paper good as water will destroy this!!! so it is sort of a one night mani, actually I love this.

Butterfly wings, Rave no - brand & black is back - essance

I know I probs Should do an Australia Day mani, but I thought it was Friday :) and had no idea it was the 26th and a Saturday :).  So sorry. But I was bored and still hadn't taken of the polish I talked about in last post and was blog surfing (????) and found this very popular idea. So I gave it a go I used a  small paint brush as you can see I am not the best with a paint brush, but practice makes perfect ;) . Adding the black to the Rave polish really makes a difference to my skin tone, I think you will see a lot of these in the future........... but they will be better (hopefully).

no brand - Rave

My mum gave this to me I think its a sample bottle, not sure all it has on it is the word "rave". Pretty boring mani super tied at the moment and I think I'm getting sick :/ I like the colour but it makes my skin look yucky, it looks all red. This is the rare time the polish actually looks like it does in the photo (it also captures that redness well). Basically what you see is what you get with the colour, I wish I knew the brand because this was a one coater and the formula is wow. Just wish it went with my skin better :(.

Colour Morphing - AVON

This polish I've had for like forever, back when my mum was an AVON lady! :P I think back then I used it as a normal polish but now I love it and its such an awesome top coat. I thought to day I'll share my favorite combo for this polish. So my base coat is Black is Back by essence , any dark colour works well but black is best. I love it,  you can't really tell by the photo but its really a coppery green. As the name states the polish really does colour morph but its really hard to get on camera :(

gems, trees and Girly - Revlon

I really love Revlon's Girly( the base colour), but my gosh its hard to get off. Its just a beautiful tone of purple, I know I used this last post I really wonted to use it again. I've never been good at drawing small things, so this was a challenge for me but I think I did ok. I didn't really have an idea in my head when I started, the original idea was to do silhouettes  of stuff.

Girly and Plum attraction - REVLON clouds

This one was real easy and pretty much what you see is how its done. The main reason I chose to this mani was that I went shopping and found these two polishes on sale for $5 each. I love the colours normally I only find ugly colours on sale but these are cool. The base coat is Revlon - Plum attraction (above), it needs two coats at least  it is very sheer. The other purple is called Girly (below)I actually like it better than the plum, its a one coat polish and its soooooooo pretty. Its a beautiful colour, i think I'm in love. these two were my first Revlons I like them, the brushes are thin which is ok, I can deal with that if the colours are wow.

Ulta3 confetti nails

ohh I am so sleepy, I've just had two full days on the water and today the wind was super strong (I got blisters :( never got them before this season)  and I broke of half my nail on my thumb on my right hand. Anyways this is my mani for the day actually I did this last night but I fell a sleep. Ok down to business, I used Ulta3 mermaid green as the base colour. I'm falling in love with colour its such a pretty green and the formula is almost perfect (just a little thick). Every time I use it my nails look so good I hardly have to touch up after, I have used this before here. I used scotch tape to cover the green and first painted with Ulta3 water Lilly, which is a shiny deep purple. (you can see what it looks like here). pulled of the tape and blotched on Ulta3 confetti which I love its a clear top coat with micro purple an green glitter. Its soooooo pretty!!!!!  I got a lot of complements on this from randoms, so I guess its a winner and it did turn out how   I wanted  it  to. :)

Shooting stars

Ok so this idea didn't quite work out how I had it in my head!!! only really my pinky and index worked the others are just blarrrr :( I'm sure there is actually real products (there is I saw the today after i did this, but it was super expensive) out there, instead I just used craft sequins and just used nail polish to stick it on. I like the idea and the ones that worked (look good) are cool, but the sequins are annoying. They keep on scratching me or getting attached to things. So for a party this would be good, like a one night thing not a day thing. Love it but I deferentially need more practice with a paint brush. :)

Mode - Ice Blue

As promised the magic of Mode's Ice Blue which I told you I would show you how cool it really is in the last post. I prefer this as a top coat than an actually polish, I don't know if its because I don't like the blue by it self or what. I think I've only ever worn it once, but it would have to be one of my least favorite polishes but  as a top coat I love it!!! Ok so the nails look a bit dodge and this because of the polish under the blue is a yucky and very thick. It is a Webo(which is a Polish brand) it has no number or name on it but its an indigo and i used it in my first post is the base colour picture after brake.......

Colour changing spotty nails

ok you know when you have an idea in your head, but when you do it doesn't look how you wanted tit to. Well this did!!! so happy :) and it was real easy. All I used was a tooth pic and nail polishes, four to be exact. Del Sol - spike (which is a sun colour changing), BYS - love boat, OPI - I have a herring problem and Mode - blue ice. How I did it is after the brake..............

Dutch Tulips - OPI

this polish confuses me, I can not for the life of me work out if its pink or red. The bottle looks pink but on the nails ( I did 2 coats with a top coat of Australis -Speck-tackular) it keeps on changing depending of what I hold my hands next to. Guess it is really a pinky/red, even saying that I feel like its a red trying really hard to be a pink. Not sure I really like it as I said the bottle looks like a hot pink and that was why i bought it, that and it was on sale. I have been wearing this about five days now and the wear and tear of this polish has been great. My fingers are still all yucky from conoeing, they are all blistered and dry they are just yucky!!!

purple - magnetix

I bought this today, I was never going to buy this but it was discounted from $15aud to only $6.50aud!!!! So  I thought i might as well give it a go, I like it its kinda groovy. It sort of looks like the sun is reflecting off it even though there is no sun. It would be a good clubbing colour/pattern. I only used one layer of the magnetic with a base coat of Colour Co 46 - rose gold, using a base coat really didn't do anything as the magnetic polish was really soils colour. It was an easy technique but you have to get the magnet really close and i kept on smudging it :) my hands have not recovered from canoeing yet.

Purple and Gold Crackle

I bought this last year in Poland, not sure if the brand is polish but the instructions are very much polish! I was being lazy so I didn't top coat this :) sorry i did this in the morning but didn't take the photo till tonight, it has chipped a bit. I do love this polish, I know crackle is a little 'done' but the colour with this one is jut so complex. At first look it looks plan almost matte purple buuuut it is NOT!!!! wow you can't really see it in the photo unless you know its there. It has tinny tiny minuscule sliver and purple sparkles, you see this when you first put it on and it is so much noticeable when a top coat is applied. I've only ever worn this with gold it just always looks stunning.

Colour Co no. 46

I wonted to wear something less noticeable, because i was going to a function. I have decided that this colour is rose gold, it might not look it but it is promise. I did four layers three just didn't look right to me, it is very runny. Its a lovely colour still not sure about the colour with my skin tone but it matched my outfit.I might do some crackle on top......... we will see what I feel like.

+ i have a herring problem - OPI

I went canoeing today ( it was hot 40oC) and chipped half my polish off, we fell in  a few times but only once on purpose :). As I'm typing this I am fighting with my eyes to keep them open!!!! we were out there for 6hrs. So i decided to patch up (I'm going again tomorrow so it want last long), i used my new OPI - I have a herring problem. I like the colour (it looks very cool in the sun), it dose not look it in the photo but its bluegray with litttle sliver sparkles,  not sure about the formula of the polish as i only did the tips. Its a bit dodge i didn't use any guide or tape, but i think its good for a first try :) I'm happy anyways.

Ulta3 - mermaid green

this is very thick polish, i really need to get my hands on a thinner not just for this polish. I only did one layer, normally one layer is not enough but hay it looks like the bottle so i like it and ill leave it. Apart from being a bit to thick for my liking the colour is great. Its a beautiful tone and looks really lovely with my skin tone defiantly a keeper :) love Ulta3 they are so cheep and the colours are endless, this one was a new polish I bought.

OPI, Wibo and scotch tape

Its a bit dodgy looking i know i had problems doing it. The colour choice is not right  for one, two: i didn't let my nails dry long enough. So to do this i used scotch tape to cover the part i wanted to stay the base coat, which was OPI's On her Majesty's Secret Service. I didn't let this dry long enough, woops!! because when i pulled off the tape after panting the green (Webo Express growth 46) i pulled of the OPI as well :( .So i wiped it off and started again but waited a good 8 hrs before using the scotch tape again. It worked, would do it again but with different colours for sure.

ON HER MAJESTYS SECRET SERVICE - my first OPI

YAY - well i craved and bought an OPI i did think them a bit expensive buuuuuut i really really wonted one to see what the fuss was. Now i know :) i love it, I took for ever deciding what colour i wanted(about 4hrs, i changed shops so i didn't look like a weirdo ). I finally decided that i would get On her Majesty's Secret Service which is part of the Sky Fall series and later if i like it i would get every month is Oktoberfest later when i get more money and a job. OPIs are $19.95aus where i live, so if anyone in the ACT knows where i can get them cheaper please tell me :).
